MICROBLADING IS A MANUAL METHOD OF DEPOSITING INK INTO YOUR SKIN WITH A MICROBLADE INTO THE SUPERFICIAL LAYER OF THE DERMIS. THE HAIRSTROKES MIMIC AND LOOK LIKE NATURAL HAIRSTOKES TO GIVE YOUR EYEBROWS A FULLER LOOK.
  • How do I begin the process?
I always begin the process with a consultation so we can agree on expectations. This takes about 20 minutes. during the consultation we will discuss what to expect, and talk a ton about the shape of your eyebrows. I will pencil in your brows and give you some ideas of what shape works with your face. Not everyone can acheive the same shape. I also discuss thet pre-procedure advice and what to expect for the healing process. The consultation is $50 and goes toward the cost of the procedure.
  • What is the process like?
Microblading is a fairly easy procedure for clients to sit through once you know what to expect. The session is scheduled for 2 hours. During the first 20 minutes, I will do a precise brow mapping. When the mapping is completed, I apply a topical numbing cream. While you are numbing, we will select the perfect color of pigment that matches your eyebrow hair and skin tone. Once the numbing set in for approximately 20 minutes, I will begin microblading. start to finish the process is 2 hours.
  • How do I care for my brows after the procedure?
Keep your microbladed eyebrows DRY!! you will want to avoid all moisture ( ie: sweat, steam, water, oil, makeup etc..) do not apply any products on your microbladed eyebrows. NO makeup, lotion or SPF while they are healing. Do not rub, scratch or pick off the scabs that form. You will need to take extra care while sleeping & try to sleep on your back so you aren't rubbing them in your sleep. DO NOT pull off the scabs. If you are peeling or pulling out the pigment pre-maturely, it can cause pigmentation loss. protect your microbladed eyebrows from the sun with large hats or sunglasses. DO NOT touch your eyebrows, the transfer of bacteria from your hands can cause an infection. If you are given an ointment (Cavilon cream) follow those instructions given. Every skin type heals a bit differently. (normal to dry skin- use a rice size amount fro each brow in the mornings only) if you have oily skin, you may not require a barrier cream unless you are instructed otherwise. ** see brow care page for more details.
  • How often do I need a touchup?
a "colorboost" is scheduled about 1 time per year. Depending on how your skin holds the pigment, if you have dry or normal skin you may go 18 months. If you have oily skin, you may require a touch up after 6-8 months.
  • How long does it take to heal?
It takes 10-14 days for the initial healing period. This is when you will need to keep your freshly microbladed eyerows DRY! after the initial healing period, your skin will continue to heal for 4-6 more weeks.
  • What do I need to do to prepare for microblading?
DISCONTINUE the use of retinols, alpha hydroxy acids, chemical peels and anything that will basically make you peel. Do not eat spicy foods, drink alcohol, take blood thinners, fish oils, caffiene, and anything that can thin your blood or raise your blood pressure, for 24-48 hours prior to your microblading session. ( I go over all of this information at your consultation)
  • Does it hurt?
Everyone is pretty much the same here. I'm told a 3 or 4 out of 10 discomfort level, 10 being the highest.
  • Will I need to take the day off of work?
You should be fine going back to work. Your eyebrows will not keep you form doing normal work activities. Check with your microblading artist if your job requires specific attire or additional concern for you to return to work.
  • Can I workout after I get microbalded?
light excercise is permitted, but not sweating. If you have excessive sweating for 10 days after you've been microbladed can cause the hairstrokes to blur and the detail to be lost.
  • What is the healing process like?
It varies from person to person. Immediately after your procedure, the microbladed area will appear to be darker and bolder in color, more sharply defined, and even have a more filled-in appearance. This can last up to a week after the treatment while the initial healing process takes place. The treated area may feel a bit like a sunburn after, but there should be minimal discomfort and minimal redness. During the initial healing period, (the first 10-14 days) there will most likely be scabbing, flaking or peeling of the skin. If that happens, do not pick! you will need to allow the scab or dry skin to come off on its own. THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT, if the scabs come off prematurely, the pigment will come out with it! The complete healing process takes about 4-6 weeks, at which time the true color of the microblading is evident. During this process your hair strokes will soften and lighten. Try and be patient through the healing process, even if you think you have lost too much pigment, your skin is still regenerating and naturally exfoliating.
  • Who is NOT a canidate for microblading?
You are not a canidate for microblading if you are pregnant or nursing, if you have a history of severe keloid scarring, if you have blood thinning issues, if you are using accutane, if you have severely oily skin, or large pores in your brow area where the pigment could be rejected, if you are severely sun-damaged or sunburned, if you have very delicate, sensitive or problematic skin. The older we get the more thin our skin gets. My clients over 70 may not have the most ideal results and may experience a loss of detail, discoloration, or additional blurring. If you are allergic to topical anesthetics, or lidocaine, or epileptic, you may not be a canidate.
  • Will Botox affect my microbladed eyebrows?
your botox will need to be completly set in before your procedure ( for 2 weeks after it was injected), or completey worn off.
